WHO IS IT FOR?
For people who have built things, led teams and carried responsibility, but now want a better rhythm. Not slower for the sake of it, just more considered.
Founders, leaders and creatives who are doing well but feel stretched. People who are not lost, but are editing. They do not want motivation. They want clarity.
The Gentle Rebel is about doing good work without constant urgency. Thinking before acting. Using experience properly. Staying useful without being busy. Choosing quality over volume

Who are you targeting to join the journey?
It is not aimed at a particular group. It is open, but it is being noticed first by people who are close to where I am in my own life. That happens to be men in their 50s who are curious and searching, questioning pace and purpose. It’s definitely not rooted in wealth or success, if anything it sits some distance from that. Over time, I expect And hope it to widen naturally.
Is it for profit?
It was never meant to be a business. It began as a personal way of living differently and sharing that journey. The interest arrived unexpectedly and has been a surprise. Right now it is about doing something that feels meaningful, fun, and useful, without rushing to turn it into anything else. My gut has always leaned towards it being non profit, partly because that feels truer to its ethos. If it became a traditional business, I think something would be lost. I believe it may lead somewhere interesting, but only if it grows as a collective movement rather than an individual venture.
Will you embrace or avoid social media, knowing it can get polluted?
Neither, really. I am not avoiding social media, but I am not pushing it either. I have an Instagram page, but it is intentionally quiet. Mostly images, very few words. No instructions, no pushing. Just a sense of how it feels. Interestingly, the strongest response so far has been through music. The playlists have sparked a lot of interaction and even suggestions for future ones. One day I would love to make a Gentle Rebel compilation vinyl or a record label??
Is it a club, or a movement?
It is probably closer to a movement than a club, but even that feels a bit grand. From the very start I have been trying to hold it gently and let it grow, rather than shape it too tightly. A friend once said she liked how lightly I was holding it like a plant to let it grow, and that stuck with me. I do not really see myself as leading it. More just looking after it as a custodian kind of thing, keeping it true to where it started, and letting other people bring their own ideas and energy to it as it goes. Keen on others to help shape it. It's more of an attitude to life.
Is it apolitical and areligious?
It is apolitical and areligious. It is about being human, not agreeing on ideas. Life has taught me to leave a little space and openness for serendipity and the universe to get involved. So not sure if that makes it religious, maybe spiritual.
Is a Gentle Rebel necessarily doing something bold in pursuit of purpose, knowledge, or happiness?
I do not think it has to be something bold or life changing. It is more a state of mind, a mindset. I once mentioned The Gentle Rebel, just the name and a bit of the ethos, to a board member at Watches of Switzerland. On his way home he later told me he asked himself, what would The Gentle Rebel do. Not my definition, his. He changed his evening plans and it led to a random act of kindness. That made me happier than any grand gesture ever could. So yes, it can be a big shift in life, but it can just as easily be one small act. What I am finding interesting is that just talking about it seems to conjure something in people. I probably have ten examples now where simply thinking about it has led someone to reflect or do something slightly unusual for them.
